April 27 2012, New York: Greg Searle presents at ASLA High Performance Landscape Training

Greg Searle addressed the New York Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architectects (ASLA), at their training event entitled High Performance Landscapes: Think Globally, Design Locally, Quantify the Benefits.  The event was held as part of the New York Chapter of ASLA’s High Performance Lecture Series.

Speakers Greg Searle and Barbara Deutsch (ASLA, Executive Director of the Landscape Architecture Foundation), provided in-depth lessons on achieving and quantifying sustainable landscapes.

Greg presented successful case studies (ecological footprinting, One Planet Communities) from around the world, focusing on transferable lessons learned.  Best practices in designing and operating for Sustainable Lifestyles were also presented, particularly behavior change, occupant engagement, and sustainability in existing buildings, with a special perspective on SITES.

Greg manages BioRegional’s ecoConcierge and Design for Sustainable Behaviours programs, and as a facilitator he has led the creation of ambitious 10-year sustainability action plans for One Planet Communities – infill projects, master-planned communities, campuses and ecodistricts in Canada and the USA.
